Wendy J. Watts, VMD, attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal behavior. After attending veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, she practiced small animal medicine for several years. During this time she discovered her love for emergency medicine. She soon earned a position as the veterinarian-in-charge at an emergency hospital in Virginia Beach, working extensively with area shelters and humane organizations in spay and neuter programs. Dr. Watts also serves as an active board member and volunteer for Wildlife Response, Inc. She her husband, Jared, and their daughter live in Smithfield, VA with their dogs, cats, and many assorted reptiles.
