Dr. Sevima Aktay obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. She then completed a rotating internship at the University of Illinois followed by a surgery residency at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, in combination with Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. After completing her residency, Dr. Aktay became board-certified in 2011 and practiced small animal surgery in Richmond, VA for eight years. She has been living and practicing in Vancouver, British Columbia for the past 3 years and is now excited to return home and rejoin the veterinary community in the Richmond area. Dr. Aktay enjoys all aspects of veterinary surgery but has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures, trauma treatment, and oncologic/reconstructive surgery. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Aktay enjoys cooking, traveling, and chasing after her two young children.
