Dr. Deborah Stratton is a Virginia native, having grown up in Richmond. She received her undergraduate degree from James Madison University before pursuing veterinary school at the University of Illinois. Following graduation, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Alexandria, Virginia, followed by a year-long surgical internship at Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty in Columbia, South Carolina. Her special interests include surgery and feline medicine.

When not working, she spends time helping out with marching bands, working on puzzles, and playing with her four cats: Atem, Mana, Midna, and Ruka.
