Radiation Oncology
Overview
The Radiation Oncology service is temporarily paused. We will update our pet owner community and referring partners when we can resume appointments for radiation therapy.
Radiation therapy is the use of high-energy beams of radiation to treat tumors. It is used to treat a variety of cancers, including tumors of the skin, nose, brain, mouth, bones, and gastrointestinal tumors. Our team is experienced in all aspects of radiation treatment, from conventional protocols to advanced stereotactic radiotherapy, offering hope and personalized care to pets across the Richmond area.

Our new Radiation Oncology service features Varianβs TrueBeam linear accelerator, advanced technology widely used in leading human oncology centers. With onboard imaging and specialized delivery techniques like intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), the TrueBeam enables precise, non-invasive radiation treatment for various tumor types while sparing healthy tissue. It also supports stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT), a high-dose technique for select cancers, allowing for effective treatment in fewer sessions. Combined with our 128-slice CT scanner, we can provide rapid, detailed, and personalized treatment plans, offering both curative and palliative options to enhance each patientβs quality of life.
