2024 Carytown Watermelon Festival

The 2024 Carytown Watermelon Festival will take place this Sunday, August 11th.

Cary Street will be closed to through traffic from 7 am-6 pm. This will impact clients' ability to access our hospital.

We will be posting VVC signs on Ellwood Avenue and N. Crenshaw Ave. to direct clients to VVC through the back alley entrance.

Directions on how to get to the hospital depending on what direction clients are coming from are below:

📍 South: Coming from the south on route 76 North (Powhite Pkwy).

  • Take Exit to Cary Street / Floyd Ave.

  • Take the exit and stay left and the exit will wrap you around to Floyd Ave.

  • Stay straight on Floyd Ave. through two lights.

  • Take a right on N Crenshaw Ave, go across Ellwood Ave, and take a left into the second alley entrance. There is reserved parking for VVC clients in our back parking lot.

📍 North and West: Coming from the North on I-195 or 76 South (Powhite Pkwy).

  • Take the exit to Cary Street /Grove Ave.

  • Take the exit, and stay right at the roundabout.

  • Take a right at the stop light onto Grove Ave.

  • Take a right onto N. Crenshaw.

  • Cross over Floyd Ave and Ellwood Ave, and take a left into the second alley. There is reserved parking for VVC clients in our back parking lot.

📍 Interstate 95 North: Off I-95 take the Boulevard Street exit.

  • Continue South until you can take a right on Ellwood Ave.

  • Take a left at N. Crenshaw, then left into the second Alley. There is reserved parking for VVC clients in our back parking lot.

📍 Interstate 95 South: Take exit I-195 Downtown expressway to the Cary Street exit.

  • Follow the exit ramp to Floyd Ave.

  • Proceed through two lights.

  • Take a right on N Crenshaw Ave.

  • Go across Ellwood Ave and take a left into the second alley entrance. Parking will be blocked off for clients in our parking lot.

*Look out for the “Public Parking” signs as well as the white VVC Hospital signs with arrows, they will help guide you to the parking areas behind the hospital.
